Day 12: Shopping!

Sorry for not posting last night. I didn’t have much to share so I thought today would be a good day to do both.

Yesterday was church of course, and probably my favorite part during the service was hearing songs I knew in English, in Romanian. Then, we had a potluck afterwards. Romanians do it a little differently here. It’s a small church, so they actually make up the plates for everyone, then hand them out, instead of doing buffet style. We sat in a big circle, ate, and talked. That was a lot of fun too. Plus, some of the students that we had had during the week came to join us! So that was neat :). After that though, the rest of the day was rather relaxing. I wanted to go shopping but places close on Sundays so I ended up just staying here, taking a nap, took a little walk, and that’s about it.

I was really excited about today though because I went shopping with the student that I am becoming good friends with. We had a fantastic time together; we took the whole afternoon! And, she had this vest that I absolutely loved and I told her I would love to get one, so she took me to the place where she got it and I bought the exact same thing! Haha! But it’s so cool I just couldn’t help it. Also, I learned that I would have a really hard time buying shoes here. Even their biggest size was just barely too small for me. Go figure.

Other than that, I had some good conversations with my students as we went through their lessons today. Most were surface level as usual, but some got a little deeper, so that was cool and I learned more about them.

I’m eager to shop more because I still haven’t really bought many souvenirs, and time is against me. Only four days left now. Wow, four days. Last week, it felt like a lot of time. Now it seems like not enough. I’m not ready to go home mostly, but I do miss certain things, the top one being my boyfriend, the second being my bed. But I am sure making the most of my time this week. I’m so busy nearly every afternoon and evening that its going to be great! I just know it will also make the week fly by quickly.

Oh well, I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂

Go see pictures. I have a few new ones!
